Rate limits
Each account has a requests-per-second limit that depends on the plan, shared by all its keys: Free 5/s, Pro 200 20/s, Pro 1,000 50/s, Pro 5,000 100/s and Corporate 200/s or more, per contract. New Free accounts have a lower limit during their first 7 days. For batches, the limit counts items (CPFs sent). Above it, the API answers 429 with a Retry-After header telling you how many seconds to wait.
A request that gets a 429 uses no credit. Spread calls over time or use the batch lookup for large volumes.
Limit headers
- X-RateLimit-Limit
- Requests per second allowed for the key.
- X-RateLimit-Remaining
- How many more fit in the current window.
- X-RateLimit-Reset
- When the window resets, in seconds since 1970 (Unix).
- Retry-After
- Only on 429. Seconds to wait before trying again.
