What the lookup returns
The registry data of the CPF, ready to confirm who your customer is.
- Name and social name
- The holder's full name and, when there is one, the registered social name.
- Registration status
- Regular, suspended, pending regularization, canceled by the agency or null, as the Federal Revenue publishes it.
- Birth date
- Returned as text and also split into day, month and year, so you can check legal age without conversion.
- Registration date
- When the CPF was registered with the Federal Revenue, useful to spot very recent registrations.
- CPF and birth date checked together
- The lookup only returns data when the CPF and the birth date match, which discourages the use of third-party CPFs.

What it costs
1 credit per successful lookup
Only a 200 response spends a credit. Invalid CPF, not found, authentication errors and unavailability are free.

Overage without interruption
On paid plans the API keeps answering after the allowance, at your plan's overage price. On the free plan it stops when the allowance runs out.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to send the birth date?
Yes. The lookup requires the CPF and the birth date (YYYY-MM-DD). If the two do not match the official base, the answer is 404 and nothing is charged.
Where does the data come from?
From the official CPF base at the Federal Revenue, queried through an authorized provider. BrazID standardizes the response and keeps a history of recent lookups to answer faster.
What happens with an invalid CPF?
A wrong format returns 400; check digits that do not match return 422. In both cases no base is queried and no credit is spent. To just check a number, use the free validator.
Can I test without spending credits?
Yes. The sandbox (api-sandbox.brazid.com) answers with test CPFs in several scenarios and does not debit your balance. There is also an Insomnia collection ready to import.
How many requests per second?
It depends on the plan: 5 req/s on the free plan and 20, 50 and 100 on the paid ones. Above the limit the API answers 429 with the Retry-After header.
